About

Thirty years of building software, most of it in the parts of the stack where a wrong answer costs somebody something real. I've led architecture at scale, and I still write the code.

Right now I'm working on machine memory — how systems keep what matters and find it again by consequence rather than resemblance — and on the unglamorous question underneath it: what it takes to make these systems reliable enough to trust.

What I think is worth sharing, I publish in the open.
